Hello Don,

Almost two years ago (9-28-05), you helped me with a purchase of 280 square feet of Cherry Ranch Plank boards in 5" and 6" widths for our home office in Belvedere, CA. You suggested we go with two widths of wood to go with the age and unique character of our home, an 1895 historic victorian overlooking the San Francisco Yacht Club, Corinthian Yacht Club, Tiburon and Angel Island.

We had a special case because our 280 square foot enclosed porch - now our home-office, was once an open porch exposed to the elements. As such, the porch was designed and built to angle downward at the corners, with holes in the corners to allow for rain run-off. The angled dip in the floor was a challenge to overcome for the radiant floor installers and the wood floor installer. But because your wood was 3/8", it was flexible enough to allow for a bend where it was most needed. You can see the bend (a hump) in one of the photos.

You suggested that I mail you pictures to put up on your website. I took several photos, back when the floor was first installed without any furniture, and then more recently. With all the east facing windows, the room is exposed to plenty of light during the summer, and the cherry color has aged beautifully over these last two years.

I hope you enjoy the beautiful photos as much as we are enjoying the floor. You were great to work with, Don. Sorry it has taken me so long to get these to you, but then again, you wouldn't be seeing the deep rich red tones of the cherry wood had I sent them to you immediately.

Over the past few years I've installed your hardwood flooring in our Maine beach house and then in our house in CT. Just over a year ago we moved to another house in CT and are doing a major renovation. Very shortly I will have completed the installation of about 3500 sq feet of your random width quartersawn red oak throughout this house and it is beautiful! The quality of your hardwood is very consistent making the installation quite easy. Thanks for making such a great product and thanks for the personable customer service!

It has been an absolute Pleasure doing business with your company. I installed 3" hickory in my living room, and hallway. What a great challenge matching the grains and making them flow. When I put the poly on them, I expected the grains to pop out. They Exploded. It's absolutely beautiful!!!!!The quality of the material was beyond my expectations.. We just built a house and chose the Walnut Common for much of our first floor. I have never seen a wood floor with such beauty and character. It is the one thing most commented on in our new home. Everybody loves it. It goes with almost any cabinet color and wood furniture. We love it.

It is like having a whole new house! I got the Brazilian Cherrywood plank floor in my living room and hallway and it is absolutely exquisite. We finally got our ranch plank floors down and finished. They are fantastic. Easy to install and finish, and even better looking than we hoped. You have a great product! We put them over Hardiebacker for radiant heat reasons. Won't know how that works out for another year but we love the looks now.

This was our 2nd time around working with Launstein. 5 years ago in our old home we put Maple in the Family and living rooms - and loved it. It was beautiful - So when we decided to move this year - there was no question about which flooring company we would use....But this time we wanted to try something different - so we went to the Launstein facility in Mason MI to look at all the flooring possibilities. Being able to see the flooring side by side as well as installed really helped us make an educated decision. We chose Hickory - Wide Plank because the variations of color and warmth really felt right for our new house. We also decided not to stain it any color - we like the natual look. We had the flooring installed in our Kitchen, Great Room/Dining Area and our back hallways...about 600 sq ft. Both installations were handled by our friends and installers Larry Pelch and son. They totally know what they are doing....they made suggestions about the direction we should lay the floor and why it would look best that way. We think they were on the money with all of their suggestions. For instance Larry suggested we use matching heat duct covers - which simply appear to be part of the floor - and don't stand out whatsoever. He was so right! The installation was quick and easy to live with - no hassle whatsoever. Everyone comments on how the Hickory floors make the room warm and cozy. We think they are a pleasure to look at every day and easy to keep up. They make our new home feel special and we couldn't be happier.

I was told if I could cut a board strait that I could install my own floor. I thought this was a great sales pitch. To date I've completed 6 area's of my home; half of my northern Mich. cottage; My neighbors cottage; another neighbors sun room and when she moved to Chicago I had the wood shipped there and did her living room and dining room of her townhouse. If you follow the advice of the very experienced staff and take your time anyone can install this exceptional product in their homes. I can honestly say that my experience has been very gratifying and enjoyable. I recommend Launsteins to everyone I know that is even thinking about wood floors before the go and spend their money on some product they may or may not be satisfied with. On a scale to 1-10 I rate this company and product 10!!!!

Six years ago I installed Launstein 4 inch red oak with country planks. It looked fantastic and I did the majority over concrete. There were some problems with water leakage but they were correctable. I've since sold the house and will start a new one in several months. I looked at Home Depot and Lowes for flooring (3/4") and found out the work I would have to do to install these floors over concrete. Therefore, my new home will have Launstein flooring for two main reasons, ease of installation and looks.

I just finished installing nearly 800 square feet of your six inch hickory planks. Before starting, I was worried I'd have difficulty maintaining straight lines and avoiding gaps, but the flooring went in exceptionally smooth and the last row I installed looks as tight and good as the first. Not to say there wasn't hard work involved, but it many ways installing your floors was one the easiest and most successful home improvement projects I've tackled. I was vacuuming our new floor today and I realized I had not written to you and told you how pleased we are with the quarter sawn white oak floor you and your son, Zack, sold to us. We moved into the house October 15th and we have received nothing but compliments on this new floor.

Perhaps the biggest compliment came from the people who installed the floor. Apparently, this is the first floor of its kind installed in this part of Georgia. The installers were very impressed with the quality of the wood and the way the floor went down, and they have been laying floors for 20 years.

We ordered a 5% supply overage in case some of the boards were not correct or spoiled. I don't think we had 1 % wasted. I have the spare boards stored in my attic. I plan to move them to my Florida house and install them there along with some others we will buy when it is time to remodel that house.

We put a product called Traffic on the floor which worked very well. In summary, your floor is simply marvelous. The knots look great, the wood grain stands out. If you have a prospect that wants to talk to a customer, please use our name.

we show pictures of our home in construction there are people who have
become interested in the flooring. Two of these people may be contacting you for flooring. I love how easy it is to install and I've only polyed them with no stain and they look super. I was wondering if you have anyone
as a sales person to show your product in the Ill. area? I am saying that I'd be interested in being a sales rep. for your company. The prices are great and so is the quality. If there is interest on your part please contact me. I could show sample peices of the flooring and hold openhouses

We purchased an 80 year old house on the beach in Maine four
years ago. The ocean view was great, but the house needed a lot of work. We
completed several renovation projects in this house, but the one that gets
the most compliments is the 4" red oak ranch flooring I purchased from you.
Despite the beach sand that gets brought into the house the floor has held
up very well. I recently purchased random width quarter sawn oak for the
family room of my house in CT. The quality was excellent, the installation
was easy, and it looks great!

Steve worked up the order, it arrived in great shape! In 3 weeks we began installation (variable width hickory common and country 2.25, 3 & 4 inch), it took about 6 days for 750 square feet. The finishing went well the following weekend. My builder and cabinet maker were amazed at the product and how well it looked, especially installed by a novice like myself. It sets off the room perfectly with the large windows along the back wall overlooking the feather river and the Sierra Nevada foothills. I sure am glad my Dad referred you to us while we were visiting back in Williamston last summer. Thanks for making an excellent product! And by the way, we only had about 15 square feet left over, a little bit of each width. Great Job Steve!
